Streptavidin Beads 6FF (Fast Flow) is a highly cross-linked 6% agarose gel matrix; utilizes the interaction between biotin and streptavidin ligands to purify biotin or biotinylated proteins. The affinity between streptavidin and biotin is very strong and needs to be eluted under denaturing conditions. Streptavidin has a relatively weak affinity for iminobiotin and can bind at pH 9.5-11.0, pH 4. Elution at 0, without the use of a denaturant, can better maintain the activity of the avidin conjugate. Streptavidin resin is resistant to high flow rates and chemical stability and is suitable for large scale purification.
