Soil Glutaminase Activity Assay kit

S-GLS (EC3.5.1.2) exists in some bacteria and plant roots, it catalyzes the hydrolysis of glutamine into glutamic acid and ammonia, and plays a major role in nitrogen metabolism, in regulation of free ammonia content and urea metabolism. Using indophenol blue colorimetry to determine the rate of ammonia increase, the enzyme activity can be calculated.
