Modified Gomori Trichrome stain kit
Masson trichrome staining, also known as Masson staining, is the most classic method for connective tissue staining and an authoritative and classic technical method for collagen fiber staining. The so-called trichrome staining usually refers to staining the nucleus and can selectively display collagen fibers and muscle fibers. The staining principle of this method is related to the size of the anionic dye molecule and the penetration of the tissue: the size of the molecule is reflected by the molecular weight, and small molecular weight can easily penetrate densely structured and low-permeability tissues; while large molecular weight can only enter loosely structured and high-permeability tissues.
The modified Gomori trichrome stain is different from the Masson trichrome staining principle and is suitable for staining fresh tissue frozen sections and identifying mitochondrial myopathy. It can dye mitochondria and diseased muscle fibers red, collagen fibers and normal muscle fibers green, and cell nuclei purple.
