Hydroxyproline Content Assay kit
HYP is one of the main components of collagen in the body. Collagen is mostly distributed in the skin, tendons, cartilage and blood vessels. Therefore, the content of HYP is an important indicator reflecting the degree of collagen tissue metabolism and fibrosis.
The sample is hydrolyzed to produce free HYP, and one supplement is oxidized by chloramine T. The oxidation product reacts with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde to produce a red compound with a characteristic absorption peak at 560nm. The HYP content can be calculated by measuring the absorbance value of the sample hydrolyzate at 560nm.
