Elastic Fiber stain kit (lichen red method)
Elastic fibers are mainly distributed in the arterial walls, alveolar walls, and skin of the human body. They are yellow in color when fresh and have strong refractive index. Commonly used elastic fiber staining methods include the Gomori aldehyde fuchsin method, the resorcinol alkaline fuchsin method, the lichen red method, the Victoria blue method, and the iron iodine hematoxylin method. Victoria blue is a benzylmethane dye that can display elastic fibers and hepatitis B surface antigen. It is not easy to over-stain and is not easy to fade after staining.
The lichen red elastic fiber stain is simple to operate and has high specificity, but the staining effect may vary among different batches of raw materials, and sometimes lipofuscin in liver cells may be stained.
