Alcohol Dehydrogenase Activity Assay kit
Alcohol Dehydrogenase is a key enzyme in the metabolism of short-chain alcohols in organisms. It catalyzes the reversible conversion of ethanol and acetaldehyde, and plays an important role in many physiological processes. The substance ADH is mainly produced in the liver, and liver damage causes ADH to be released into the serum. The level of serum ADH activity reflects whether liver function is abnormal.
ADH catalyzes NADH reduction of acetaldehyde to produce ethanol and NAD+, NADH has an absorption peak at 340nm, but NAD+ does not; measure the absorbance at 340nm.
