Adrenomedullin (13-52), Human
This adrenomedullin fragment possessed vasodilatory activity. It has been suggested to modulate receptor-mediated, but not voltage-dependent, pulmonary vascular contraction by influencing Ca²? influx. Therefore, it has been proposed that hADM (13-52) acts as an endothelium-dependent vasodilator agent in the pulmonary vascular bed of the rat. Furthermore, this compound may act as a modulator of the vascular phases of inflammation.
